Came across this little pretty yesterday, and I thought it could be a beautiful holiday decor item...
Just imagine the possibilities....different papers and ribbons...and then what to fill it with? Ornaments, feathers, glittery anything, stars, greenery, candy, meringue cookies, berries. It's a craft of endless possibilities...looks pretty easy and is virtually free.
In my book - this has the makings of being a PERFECT craft, right?
So I read over the directions, don't have a "bone folder," but I've scored and folded paper before without one...bring it on!
I was so confident in myself, that I was taking pictures as I plodded along. I measured and scored and folded for a couple hours, and all I had was a ginormous, messy paper fan. Even if I had ended up with a "paper compote"...it would not be something I'd admit to making as the paper was looking pretty rough by this point.
I've decided that a "bone folder" must be a magic wand, as this craft is 100% impossible...and that the picture on Martha's website is a total fabrication meant to make us feel inadequate in comparison to Martha's "Craft Department".
This experience has caused me to question my life-long secret devotion to Martha, and I'm just not sure how I'll be able to pick up a glue gun any time soon. My crafting spirit has been broken.
If you can figure this one out, Martha may just hire you, as I would venture to guess that she couldn't do this project if her vast empire depended on it.

Your comments on this post have made me laugh out loud!! Thanks for putting things in perspective for me!
