The Little Green Farm Table

Our table was featured by Kim of Savvy Southern Style at her Wow us Wednesday party.  Thanks so much, Kim!

Well, he's done it again - a couple weeks ago, my husband created another farm table from an old salvaged door and some reclaimed barn wood.  It's smaller and greener than the first table he did, but I thought it would be a great kitchen table, desk, or craft table.

I tried taking pictures in the house, but it was chaos.

I love that my babies want to be around me...seriously, I know it's a blessing and probably won't last...

...but, it also makes taking pictures a test of one's patience...

...to say it nicely.

Plus, it's too cold to paint outside, so I currently have 3 dressers, a bookcase, a desk, and about 10 drawers sitting in the room with the table.  Does not make for a nice pictures.

So, outside I went (I know the neighbors MUST think I'm NUTS!!!) to take pictures...

It was so cold that I could barely bend my finger to hit the button on the camera.  Kind of sounds like the beginning of a bad joke
...in Ohio, it's so cold...your mama wears carhartts and long-johns (ahem, thermal underwear for you fancy people) at the same time.

Please don't un-follow me for that horrid attempt at humor.  I'll try not to let it happen again.  Promise.

But it was so cold and windy that I put very little effort forth to try to decorate the table...

Thank you SO much to all of you dear people who have wished my husband well and shared your own stories of the craziness caused by steroids.  He had his first infusion this morning, and it went really well.
I do really appreciate your support, you are the bestest!

Finally, The Farm Table

This table was featured by Sherry at The Charm of Home at her weekly Home Sweet Home Link- Up Party and by Good Luck Charlie at Redoux.  Their parties are each Friday, and if you haven't linked up before, I highly recommend them.  Thank you so much to both of these lovely ladies for featuring my husband's table...I know he'll be giddy with excitement...as soon as I explain what "being featured' means. :)

Promised a couple weeks ago, I finally have pictures of the farm table my husband built out of an old door and reclaimed barn wood....

...see the hinges in the corners...

Here it is decorated for Christmas:

We moved into our house in September, and if you've looked at the pictures of our last house, you'll see that our new home isn't really our style yet.  I've been spending all of my "free time" working on my blog and starting my business, so the house has been put on the back burner for a while.  Please use your imagination a little bit...pretty curtains, hardwood floors, paint, etc.

Our family doesn't "do" decorated tables for holidays or any days...putting raw veggies on a tray is "fancy," so I just tried some different decor ideas for fun...

We don't own a set of formal china - it would never be used...I love the look of layered dishes and chargers, but they aren't something that we'd EVER use in real life.

We live in a private lake community, and the wood is from the beach near our house.

Don't worry, I've put many coats of poly on the top to protect the future owner from consuming paint chips.
Everything but the top was made from reclaimed barn wood.

Have you decided on your Christmas table decor yet?  Does your family do a lot of decorating for Christmas?  I know we'll do a lot more once our kids are older...right now, it's just too much trouble to have items out that will certainly be chewed on, played with, climbed upon, dropped, used as a projectile...ya know?

Hope you are enjoying the holiday season.
